Mulu Malaysia

The Gunung Mulu National Park 100km from the city of Miri, in the federal state of Sarawak, on the island of Borneo, in Malaysia near the border with Brunei. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. It contains large caves and karstic formations, in a mountain rainforest. The park is famous for its caverns and many expeditions were organized to explore them, like the jungles that surround them. The 52,864 ha park contains 17 vegetation zones, housing about 3,500 species of vascular plants. Its variety of palm species are exceptionally rich, with 109 species in 20 genera. The park is dominated by the Gunung Mulu, a pinnacle of sandstone with 2,337 meters high and by the 295 km of explored caverns that are home to millions of bats, the Sarawak camera, in this park, is the largest known cave in the world.
